Juliette Berkeley

Juliette Berkeley makes the ceramic trophy pieces for the Tom Grass Spirit of Adventure literary prize. Inspired by Tom’s own creative journey the trophy pieces depict landscapes and symbols of myth and legend.

Juliette is an artist and designer based in the Surrey hills whose practice is rooted in drawing and painting. After a year of English Literature at Boston University Juliette obtained a BA in Product Design from Central Saint Martins, and worked for renowned Art dealer Daniella Luxembourg before gaining an MA in fine Art from the College of Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Following the drawing intensive programme at the Royal Drawing School exploring many varied and unusual mediums and processes Juliette turned to ceramics. Clay provides another surface for drawing, creating a freedom through material difficulty and producing objects of art to be displayed, held, carried and used in everyday life.
